About Bi-fund

A deliberate way of working.

Shanghai Bi-fund Investment Corporation focuses primarily on opportunities in secondary markets. Our work starts with industry and company research, moves through investment judgment and portfolio construction, and continues with close attention to downside risk.

More recently, we have been building quantitative tools alongside that fundamental process. Multi-factor research and automated execution give us another way to test ideas, reduce repetition, and review decisions with greater consistency.

01

Research before action

We seek to understand businesses, industries, and market structure before capital is committed.

02

Process over prediction

Consistent decision frameworks help us respond rationally when markets are uncertain or volatile.

03

Risk is part of every decision

Position sizing, portfolio construction, and ongoing monitoring are integrated into the investment process.

What we do

Research, capital and technology—kept close together.

Our work spans fundamental research, client-focused asset management, proprietary investment, and the development of systematic investment technology.

01 / RESEARCH

Industry Research & Investment Insights

Industry mapping, company analysis, valuation work, and thematic research designed to turn complex information into clear investment questions.

02 / CLIENTS

Asset Management

Research-led portfolio and asset-management services for eligible high-net-worth and corporate clients, with an emphasis on alignment, transparency, and risk control.

03 / CAPITAL

Proprietary Investment

Investment and trading activities using the company’s own capital, supported by fundamental analysis, defined risk limits, and continuous portfolio review.

04 / TECHNOLOGY

Quantitative & Automated Trading

Ongoing research into multi-factor models, systematic strategy testing, automated execution, and technology-enabled risk monitoring.

Investment approach

Value at the core. Trend as context.

Fundamental research anchors our decisions. Valuation tells us what may be worth owning; market structure and price behavior help us think about timing, position management, and changing conditions.

01

Frame the opportunity

Define the industry, market structure, and source of potential value.

→
02

Research the fundamentals

Assess business quality, financial strength, valuation, and key uncertainties.

→
03

Test the thesis

Challenge assumptions with scenarios, contrary evidence, and factor signals.

→
04

Construct with discipline

Translate conviction into position sizing, entry logic, and risk limits.

→
05

Monitor and adapt

Track thesis changes, market behavior, exposure, and downside conditions.

→
Quantitative research

Systematic where it helps.

Our quantitative work brings together multi-factor analysis, strategy testing, automated execution, and ongoing risk monitoring.

The purpose is practical: make repeatable work more consistent, make execution more efficient, and make it easier to learn from earlier decisions. It supports judgment rather than replacing it.

Research & insights

Work that starts with a question, not a forecast.

Our research is organized around three recurring questions: what makes a business durable, how an industry is changing, and which measurable signals can improve portfolio decisions.

Fundamental research

Business quality and valuation

Understanding competitive position, cash generation, balance-sheet resilience, and the expectations embedded in market prices.

Industry research

Structural change and opportunity

Following supply chains, policy, technology, and demand patterns to identify how industry economics may evolve.

Systematic research

Factors, trends, and execution

Testing repeatable signals and implementation rules across market environments while accounting for risk and trading frictions.
